The earth quake

A week has passed since a series of strong earthquakes hit Tohoku district. Kanagawa prefecture where we live have been affected.

We were very anxious and we have been suffering from serious electrical power shortage. During these three days, we don’t have planned outage and we can relax  for the first time during a week.

I stayed abroardat at that time. I had been unable to contact my family for several hours and were very anxious because we lived near a beach. I finally confirmed the safety of my family. My wife walked for eight hours from her office at Tokyo and were caught up by her father’ car at Shinkoyasu. I could not return to Japan at that day and next day I could return to Japan.

During last week, we didn’t have enough access to public transportation, so I worked from home. I experienced power electrical shortage twice at the most. And there have been some aftershock.

However, we attended my daughter’s graduation ceremony on Thursday and were cheered up by powerful children.

This week, we will have the planned outage at the same schedule and I will go abroad again. This planned outage are predicted to continue for more than a month. We have to return to our everyday life in spite of power shortage.
